It was another strong performance against a top four team.
After an uncharacteristically shaky first quarter, with several turnovers by both teams, Rovers settled into their rhythm and were five ahead at the main break.
Chloe Brown worked tirelessly in attack, instrumental in moving the ball down the court and showing great accuracy in goals.
The second half saw the whole team lift their intensity, applying pressure all over the court and increasing their lead.
The defensive duo of Chrissy Hurst and Natalie Sampson proved too strong for Strathmerton, making intercepts and punishing any wayward shots in the circle.
A well-earned victory by 15 points is testimony to the hard work and determination shown by every A-grade player.

B-grade: Deni Rovers 40 def Strathy 37.
The Rovers girls were pumped for the top of the table clash against a very strong Strathy outfit.
They trained hard to test out the game plan and everyone was clear on their role.
A bit too much excitement at the start led to a bit of unsettled play, which stabilised across the course of the game.
Strong performances by everyone showed how playing as an team rather than a team of individuals makes for a successful combination.

C-grade: Deni Rovers 48 def Strathmerton 25.
There were a few nerves on court as Rovers played hard, looking for another win.
Early on, play was tight and looked messy as both teams struggled to settle.
Scoring followed the centre pass and pressure on court created turnover opportunities which were difficult to convert.
Strong passes from Jemmah Conallin helped settle the team and Catie Lewis displayed her fighting spirit and voiced her encouragement on court.
At half-time the team was asked to settle and take control.
Rovers went on to show their team spirit, taking on board what was asked.
Jemma Smith moved to defence applying intense pressure in the goal ring.
Matilda Glowrey displayed vision finding passes into the goalies and Abby Whitehorn showed her determination to fight for the ball and not let go.
The team took control allowing Georgia Dudley and Nicole Felmingham to shoot seven unanswered goals.
A tough game but the girls didn’t let up and enjoyed the win.
Best on court went to Jemma Smith for her strong defence and ability to shut down her player.

The Rovers were playing to cement their place on top of the ladder.
The girls came out feeling confident and applied pressure on Strathmerton from the first pass.
The team worked well together on court in the first half, making space and using their timing to find the strongest passing options.
Kelly Thorpe and Tiarna Murdock worked hard in defence ensuring the turnover opportunities were never missed.
Rachel Bucholtz, Nikita Doyle and Ellissa Boyer played consistently across the midcourt for the entire game.
Kaila Park and Mollie Leetham demonstrated confidence and control in the ring to score with accuracy.
Rovers kept Strathmerton to two goals in the final quarter and were rewarded with a solid win.
Best on court went to Rachel Bucholtz for showing strength while playing an unfamiliar position and creating a lot of turnovers.

Wow, what a game!
The Rovers girls knew it was not going to be easy.
They chased every ball, fighting hard to stay in the game.
They entered the last quarter down by five goals, but they stepped it up a notch and came out firing to get 11 goals and winning by one.
The game had an atmosphere and intensity of a finals match.

The Rovers girls showed off their skills with impressive passes, quick footwork and sharp shooting.
The centre court players did an excellent job at transitioning the ball from defence to attack.
Their full connection was spot on as well as their timing.

The massive first quarter set up a comfortable win for the young Roos.
Lilly Boyer and Georgia Danckert scored 17 goals, almost half the total goals for the match, in the first quarter.
They were well supported by Lara Horne, Eva Maher and Amelie Bulmer.
Nina Glowrey showed her strength in centre, whilst Stella Andrews, Zoe Basset and Ava Braybon were strong in defence.
The girls are growing their confidence and knowledge of the game.

Macie Ezard, Alyssa Hawley and Lily O’Donnell were dynamic in defence, providing numerous turnovers.
Kelsey Clark, Amy Doherty, Olivia Armytage and Ella Clark worked the mid and goal scoring end.
The progression in skill and match play has been tremendous and exciting to see.

It was a tough game for the Rovers under-11s girls.
They played a top age side who had experience behind them.
The girls fought hard each quarter and got a few great intercepts.
The defence worked really hard also.
