Winter grand final battle set

Hotshots and Shuttle Masters will go head-to-head in the Deniliquin Badminton Winter Competition grand final next week.

In the final round of the competition at Deniliquin Stadium on Monday, Shuttle Master edged ahead in an intense clash as Smashers put up a strong fight.

Shuttle Masters secured a narrow victory, winning 402-379.

Hotshots finished on top of the ladder with 31 points, and Shuttle Masters second on 28 points. Smashers were only a few points behind, with 23 points.

Presentations and supper will be held after the grand final on Monday night.

Those attending are asked to bring a plate to share.

The Deniliquin Badminton Club will take a short break from competition after next week, but are preparing for the spring competition to run from September 1 to December 8.

Before the competition starts, practice nights will be held on August 18 and 25.
