A tough contest on a cold, windy day saw the B-grade girls put in a solid effort, but fall just short in the end.
Despite good movement and composure throughout the match, the opposition’s height proved a challenge, particularly in key moments.
The team stayed determined and worked well together, showing strong passages of play and plenty of grit.
An unfortunate loss, but lots to build on for next week.

Amazing win for the team on Saturday.
Second win for the season which was very exciting.
Our shooters and attacking team were on fire this week, with a special shout out to Mia Jenkins for getting BOG with her shooting efforts.
Amazing game played by Mel Edwards who got our second award, running all game in the centre court.
Lots of rolling subs made for fresh legs up and down the court, too.
Well done to the defence end too for shutting down a strong Finley attacking end. Georgie McCalman secured some unreal intercepts which led to many turnover goals.
Awards: Mia Jenkins, Mel Edwards, Georgie McCalman.
C-reserve: Deni Rams 39 def Finley 28.
C-reserve had a much deserved and welcome win this week, coming away with a 39 to 28 victory over Finley.
While this was the team’s first win for the season, it reflected the steady improvement and determination that’s been building with each game.
Grace once again showed her versatility on the court, feeding into the ring and switching seamlessly between wing positions to support the shooters.
Abbey Doncon and Remy Henderson both had strong games in goals, holding their own against the wind and a strong defence.
Down the other end, the defensive pressure was outstanding, making it difficult for Finley to move the ball into their attacking end.
Full-court defence helped to keep the momentum in our favour from start to finish.
It was a great team effort and hopefully a confidence booster for our upcoming games.
Awards: Lauren Ryan, Grace McMahon, Abbey Doncon.
Under-17s: Deni Rams 52 def Finley 31.
The girls put together a strong four quarter effort on Saturday, with their minds focused on a win from the first whistle.
Transition through the mid-court was smooth, with impressive foot speed from both Shontai O’Callaghan and Aysha Mitsch.
Mitsch, in a best on court performance, was also good defensively with multiple intercepts.
Alice Circuitt and Ava Marshall were solid and combined well in defence, and at the other end of the court Phoebe Newman and Zoe Circuitt again displayed excellent accuracy at goal.
Molly Bradley and Georgia Henderson played strong into attack with beautifully measured feeds into the goalers.

The girls pushed through in what was windy and cold conditions to just come away with the win, showcasing their best performance in the last quarter with the defenders Killarni Macdonald and Zara O’Donnell winning crucial ball back for their side.
Undoubtedly, the stand-out player of the match went to Lexi Maher who was a workhorse all day.
While Zara’s O’Donnell, tireless defence was also a standout.

Another strong week from the girls as they put in a confident and composed performance against Finley.
From the first whistle, the team showed great energy and teamwork, creating plenty of chances and working hard the whole way down the court.
There was some excellent passing play through the middle, with the girls showing real improvement in their positioning and ball movement.
Great work all round, girls.
