Intereach to showcase employment opportunities

The employment opportunities available at Deniliquin’s biggest community service provider will be on display at an Open Day this month.The Intereach Open Day, which will precede its annual general meeting, will be held from 10am to 2pm on Thursday, November 28.It will be a day of fun-filled family activities, but will also double as an information sharing opportunity.Intereach CEO Keryn Fox said it would be a family-orientated day with free food and games for the children, plus activities for all ages. ‘‘However, we also want to highlight the services provided by Intereach and what is available for community members,’’ she said.‘‘Naturally, to provide these services we need a lot of staff across a broad range of professions.‘‘At Intereach we not only have team members who specialise in community service provision, but also various individuals who support administration, communication, human resources and a host of other functions.’’In Deniliquin, which is the Intereach headquarters, there are about 70 team members. Across the 16 offices in the Intereach service area — which covers southern NSW and the Riverina, central and northern Victoria and the Mallee — there are nearly 400 staff members.They are supported by more than 150 volunteers who make a valuable contribution to the organisation.‘‘With such a large organisation we often have vacancies across various areas and we are proud of the career pathways that are provided. This has expanded since we became a partner for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.‘‘We understand the importance of valuing employees and supporting them to make a difference to the lives of people in our community.
