Waldron’s Fresh on River Corowa is ecstatic to announce that its store has been awarded the Best Supa IGA Retail Transformation and Innovation in Victoria and Southern NSW.
The award is on top of the store achieving a hat-trick of Meat Department wins – an excellent achievement.
Waldron’s-owned since March 2005, Corowa SUPA IGA has now transformed into Waldron’s Fresh On River with an extensive full store renovation to bring the local township of Corowa the best in a new and exciting shopping experience.
The new-look store with an additional 150m2 to its fresh area, now includes a stand-alone bakery with full artesian range plus more, a café with fresh made meals, barista coffee.
The store has become famous for its Jillamatong Lamb, grown locally on the Waldron’s very own farm. The store has won Meat Department the last three years in a row 2018, 2019 and 2020 and is still growing in popularity and reputation.
“With the fresh expansion, the meat department offers an open butchers room where the customer can interact with the butchers directly for any specific requests,” Waldron’s Store Manager Craig Waldron told The Free Press.
“The store has a large focus on sourcing locally, from, Butts Smokehouse Albury, Kelly Bros Produce Yarrawonga - picked straight from the farm on the day through to gourmet grocery lines such as Rich Glen Products Yarrawonga - Beechworth Honey, Family Chef which is owned by Rivalea and Gamze Smokehouse.”
The close ties the Waldron’s have with the local community has had an integral part of the store’s successes as the community shows strong and local support for Waldron’s Fresh on River.
