After the success of this year’s event, the club would like to thank a number of organisations and individuals for their support prior and on the day of the event.
For the Echuca-Moama area, more than $76,000 was raised this year for the cause thanks to the generosity of the community.
Of that, $10,000 was raised during the year prior to Good Friday.
Groups such as the Echuca CFA, SES, Echuca Village Fire Brigade, Moama Rural Fire Brigade, Moama Fire and Rescue, the Kiwanis group and sporting clubs such as the bowls and golf clubs as well as others were all there to help on Good Friday by taking to the streets to collect money for the cause.
Spread across the twin towns were more than 20 Lions members, who also volunteered their time on the day.
The Lions would like to thank; St Mary’s Parish for the use of their hall, Echuca Workers, Kevin Lowrie for collecting and distributing the collection tins and of course the public for their donations.
The Great Aussie Beer Shed was also a big contributor to the cause as they raised money throughout the year.
