Labor is promising one nurse to every three patients including one nurse in charge and one triage.

Ms Dixon said the announcement by Labor is the second to support the Deniliquin branch’s call for better nursing ratios with Shooters, Fishers and Farmers candidate Helen Dalton also supporting nursing ratios.

‘‘It’s exactly what we want and would see us join Victoria and Queensland policy,’’ Ms Dixon said.

Labor has promised if elected to replace shift by shift ratios with ‘nursing hours’ and have them rolled out from July 2019.
