Kerr is the current leader of the Australian Professional Rodeo Association rough stock saddle bronc season and will be looking to earn more points when competing for the Lionel Sweeney Memorial Saddle Bronc.
All riders have the chance to increase their points total on the Easter weekend with 11 rodeos in the eastern states of Australia, including Deniliquin.
There are more than 2000 nominations for the 11 Easter rodeos throughout the weekend.
With so many rodeos at Easter, there is a strong chance there could be changes in the leader board.
While Kerr is one of the favourites to win the Lionel Sweeney event, he will be challenged by 2015 Russell Offord Memorial Buckle Cody Angland.
Angland has competed in the United States, but more recently had success at Tumbarumba, NSW, scoring 88 and 87 on the same day to win the bareback bronc ride.
There are only a handful of scores in horse events in the high 80s each season and rarely does a rider score two at the one rodeo.
Other notable competitors who will be riding in Deni are Swan Hill’s Heath Chalmers and Echuca rider Dean Oliver.
The action out at the Deniliquin Rodeo Grounds will kick-off with the local junior barrel race.
This will be followed by the Australia Pro Rodeo Association (APRA) junior steer ride; team roping; second division bull ride; rope and tie; steer wrestling; APRA junior steer ride; breakaway roping; pony bareback bronc ride; team roping; second division saddle bronc; RACE Entertainment trick riding; pub steer ride challenge; open steer ride; barrel racing ladies; and APRA junior barrel race, before an intermission.
The second division bull riding will restart the action following the intermission.
The second half of the event will also see the breakaway roping; open bareback; team roping; open saddle bronc Lionel Sweeney Memorial Buckle, and steer wrestling, before closing out with nine open bull riders.
