Dot and Gwen tied with 23 hoops each

Seventeen players lined up for croquet on Wednesday morning with Dot Murphy and Gwen Pearn winning their three games, and both having a score of 23 hoops.

Five players won their two games — Darren McLoughlin with 24, John James with 22, Lorraine Honeyman with 21 and Dors Peterson and Helen Moye both with 20 hoops.

John James had a field day with jump shots, with 10 being successful but in two he unfortunately put the opposition through.

Colin Campbell also had one great jump shot.

There was no croquet on Easter Sunday due to the Western Riverina Tennis Championships, but several croquet players volunteered to work in the kiosk at the tournament.

Players are reminded that the Rich River group will be at the courts for the fun day at 9.30am for a 10am start this Sunday.

It is hoped there will be a good roll-up of local players to ensure it is a good day. Everyone is expected to bring their own lunch, but the club will provide morning and afternoon tea.

The doubles championships will be played on Sunday, May 5 starting at 9am for a 9.30am start. Players will need to provide their own lunch.

Wednesday’s play will start at 9am for a 9.30am start on May 1 with these time changes remaining from then on.

Sunday’s play will change to the afternoon at 12.30pm for a 1pm start from May 12.
