Mathoura’s A grade netball side managed to keep their Picola & District League season on track with a seven goal victory over Yarroweyah, as they bounced back following two straight defeats.

In their two previous outings, the Timbercutters were well below their best having suffered defeats to fellow finals contenders Berrigan and Rennie by double figure margins.
But against Yarroweyah, they were back to their best to sit on the edge of the top eight.
The Timbercutters sit four points behind Rennie, although they do still have a game in hand with the Hoppers yet to have a bye.
If Mathoura are to seriously challenge for a place in the finals, they will need to claim a victory against fifth place Tocumwal.
Saturday’s game against Tocumwal marks the beginning of a run of four straight fixtures where Mathoura will face off against sides currently locked in the top eight.
They will also face Waaia, Deni Rovers and Strathmerton over the next month.
Final score, Mathoura 41 to Yarroweyah 34.

Mathoura’s B grade impressed in a 15 goal win on Saturday.
Their attacking work this week was spot on with great positioning around the ring and the timing of drives worked perfectly.
Defensive back-up was always there with each player showing composure and trust in each other.
Final score, Mathoura 49 to Yarroweyah 34.

It was a solid win for Mathoura’s C grade, knocking off Yarroweyah by 18 goals.
The Timbercutters won every quarter, but at times were sloppy.
Mathoura were impatient at times and will need to settle and use a little poise in the coming weeks.
Final score, Mathoura 37 to Yarroweyah 19.

The C reserve Timbercutters put forward one of their best performances of the year in a 24 goal win over the Hoppers.
Mathoura worked well together with everyone contributing to what has been described as the most satisfying win of the year.
Final score, Mathoura 42 to Yarroweyah 18.

Unfortunately Mathoura’s Under 17s were unable to overcome Yarroweyah, going down by seven goals.
The game was slow paced with the Timbercutters trying to find their rhythm.
It was a slow start in the first and second quarters, however Mathoura came back with a great game in the third and fourth quarters.
The attackers worked well and Faith Butt had an amazing game with intercepts and passes into the ring while the defensive end intercepted multiple passes.
Despite the effort Yarroweyah took away the win.
Final score, Yarroweyah 28 to Mathoura 21.

An outstanding effort by Mathoura’s U15s saw them score a massive 44 goal win against Yarroweyah.
Everything the Timbercutters’ side has been working on over the last couple of weeks came together on Saturday, snapping a three game losing streak.
Final score, Mathoura 50 to Yarroweyah 6.
The hard work of the U13s Timbercutters was rewarded with a 14 goal win over Yarroweyah.
A great all round team effort saw Violet and Sari play beautifully in goals and work well together.
The midcourt of Jess, Paige and Savannah put into practice what they have been learning, attacking and defending brilliantly.
Sienna, Lexy and Mikayla were amazing in defence, keeping Yarroweyah to five goals for the game.

Mathoura’s U11s showed their capabilities on Saturday, with plenty of smiles after every goal against the Hoppers.
