The Blues will head into the clash aiming to bounce back from a 37 point loss to Nathalia last week.
After an impressive effort against fourth placed Mulwala, going down by just 16 points with key players missing, Hall believes his side could be due to take their first big scalp of the season.
‘‘We’ll definitely go in as underdogs being a young and developing side,’’ he said.
‘‘I think we’re getting tested every week. The best thing is is that we’ve been competitive every week too.
‘‘So far we can’t fault the effort of everyone in the side and if we continue to keep it up we’ll continue to improve and get a big scalp.
‘‘Numurkah are also a young side and they’re very talented.
‘‘I just feel that after our effort against Mulwala we can definitely take it up to Numurkah.’’
The Rams will unfortunately be without tall forward Joel Park (travelling), who kicked three goals last week, and will likely have talented young-gun Will Shaw out due to Bendigo Pioneers duties.
Deni will, however, welcome back key defender Brayden Hall, with a replacement for Shaw still to be decided.
‘‘Blair Sartore has certainly put his name in the mix after four weeks of consistently good footy in the twos,’’ Sam Hall said.
‘‘We may also look at Brady Trotman or Scott Atley who are both back from injury.
‘‘We’ll most likely look to take the game on again this week in the hope of posting a bigger score.
‘‘The first seven or eight games we were pretty defensive but in order to take a big scalp we need to start hitting the scoreboard more,’’ Hall said.
Selection: Numurkah by three goals.
