Norris was understood to be in good spirits, and was cracking jokes when he chatted to a friend on the phone just before he was hospitalised due to a medical emergency, the details of which are not yet known, according to the outlet.
The ordeal on Wednesday, local time, came nine days after the Walker, Texas Ranger star marked his 86th birthday, and said at the time he felt grateful for his good health.
The martial artist - whose real name is Carlos Ray Norris - marked his big day with a video of him sparring with a trainer, which he shared to Instagram on March 10.
"I don't age. I level up," the Expendables 2 cast member captioned the clip.
"I'm 86 today! Nothing like some playful action on a sunny day to make you feel young.
I'm grateful for another year, good health and the chance to keep doing what I love.Â
"Thank you all for being the best fans in the world. Your support through the years has meant more to me than you'll ever know.
"God Bless, Chuck Norris."
Following reports of his medical emergency, fans rushed to that post's comments section to wish him well.
"All the best, Chuck, get well soon, the world needs you," one posted.
"I hope you doing okay brotha. Heard you was in the hospital prayers (sic)," another said.
And a third supporter wrote: "Get better soon Chuck."
Norris served in the US Air Force and went on to win multiple martial arts championships.
The Delta Force actor is a black belt in Karate, Taekwondo, Tang Soo Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Judo.
Norris founded his own discipline, Chun Kuk Do, and went on to train celebrities in martial arts.
His late friend, actor and fellow martial artist Bruce Lee, cast him as villain Colt in 1972's The Way of the Dragon, and the late Hollywood legend Steve McQueen then encouraged Norris to continue acting.
His most popular role came in 1993 as the titular character, Ranger Cordell Walker, in the US television series Walker, Texas Ranger.
After the show ended in 2001, Norris continued playing lead roles in movies until 2006.
His last major film appearance came in 2012 with The Expendables 2.
