Only twice have Fremantle won nine games in a row - in 2015 and 2006.
A win over Essendon at the MCG on Sunday would be Fremantle's ninth win in a row this season, and they could reach the magical 10th straight victory against St Kilda next Friday night in Perth.
"I haven't thought about it at all to be honest," Longmuir said on Thursday.
"I'm just preparing for Essendon. It's the first time I've actually thought about it when you asked me.
"It doesn't really bother me how many we've won in a row."
When Fremantle kicked five late goals to beat Hawthorn by 15 points last week, they became just the third team in VFL/AFL history to post three straight wins while dealing with back-to-back-to-back breaks of six days or less.
It's a big tick for the club's increased focus on running - both at training and before games.
Fremantle will have a five-day break to prepare for St Kilda following the clash with Essendon, but Longmuir won't be managing any players against the Bombers.
"No temptation. We're dealing with Essendon first and foremost," he said.
"There's just no team you can get too cute with in modern day football."
Longmuir, who is on an ongoing employment agreement at Fremantle rather than a regular coaching contract, has become hot property on the back of his team's stunning winning run this season.
The 45-year-old has already ruled himself out of the vacant Carlton position, and insists the outside noise - whether it's positive or negative - doesn't move him.
"I don't get too caught up in what the external (people) say, whether they're bagging me or patting me on the back," Longuir said.
"I get my feedback from my bosses and people around me."
Fremantle will be without skipper Alex Pearce (knee) for at least one week, leaving either Hugh Davies or Oscar McDonald to take his spot in defence against Essendon.
Star midfielder Hayden Young (concussion) and defender Corey Wagner (abductor) have also been ruled out.
Essendon lost Dyson Sharp and Zak Johnson to injury.
The Bombers (1-8) are wallowing in 17th spot following a torrid start to the year.
But they almost knocked off Gold Coast, North Melbourne and GWS, to go with their 45-point win over Melbourne.
