THERE’S ONE WORD THAT COULD LOOSELY DESCRIBE THE TRAJECTORY OF THE HOME SPA (ONCE UPON A TIME KNOWN AS THE BATHROOM) – DETAIL.

Surfaces are natural, yet sustainable; lighting is strategic – task and mood orientated; tapware is a fanfare of burnished and textured metals; while basins are now integrated and a seamless detail of the overall vanity.
A quick look at the home spa and many of these directions are brought into sharp focus.
The magnificent rectilinear, wall-hung vanity is finished in Caesarstone ICONä Sedara, which in turn sits atop beautiful full-width timber cabinetry in reeded walnut.
A sense of serenity and calm is enhanced by virtue of the oversized mirror, backlit with a soft, warm glow.
This same lighting is used beneath the vanity.
Note the sculptural wash basin, created from the same mineral surface as the vanity – it’s sleek, seamless and exudes luxury.
The perfect complement to this palette of warm, earthy hues is the selection of tapware – wall-mounted spout and mixer in burnished copper with knurled handle detail.
The unquestionable unifier in this design is the just-arrived Caesarstone ICONä advanced mineral surface in Sedara.
Its polished surface, with a 20mm profile, features a finely mottled base in hues of soft, earthy grays and ivory, overlayed with delicate veining in deeper greys and raw umber, alongside irregular mineral deposits.
With growing consumer insistence on sustainable products that adhere to the ‘do it once, do it well’ theory, it’s gratifying to see the choice of materials that not only deliver on this goal, but achieve it without any compromise on beauty or design.
Caesarstone ICONä is a prime example – handcrafted from natural minerals and up to 80 per cent recycled materials (such as glass), this advanced mineral surface is crystalline silica-free, ultra-resistant to stains and carries a lifetime warranty (the only mineral surface to do so).
The design featured – Sedara – is one of 45 available in the Caesarstone ICONä range, all of which are in large 3240 x 1640mm slabs with a 20mm profile.
The collection features a variety of finishes from polished and concrete to natural, rough and honed (not all designs are available in all finishes).
