Senator Hanson has been accused of talking Australia down in her visit to the UK where she spoke at a conservative conference in London, claiming Australia had been "flooded" with migrants.
She also visited Italy with billionaire benefactor Gina Rinehart.
Appearing on far-right activist Tommy Robinson's podcast during her UK visit, Senator Hanson claimed negative migration issues in Australia began after the abolition of the White Australia policy.
One Nation MP Barnaby Joyce said while he defended the comments of his leader, the party did not support the reintroduction of the immigration policy.
"The wind down of the White Australia policy, a very good thing, and at the start there was really no issues with it," he told Seven's Sunrise.
"But over time, we got a section of people who didn't want to assimilate with Australia, didn't work within the guardrails of Australia and therefore we started moving away from an Australian culture to having to encompass a whole range of views."
ANU political scientist Jill Sheppard said there could be a "reckoning" for Senator Hanson and her party over her relationship with Mrs Rinehart, but it might not come from voters.
"It undermines the relationships that you have with your colleagues because they start to think, well, this isn't what we signed up for ... and now all we're doing is talking about your billionaire friend," she said.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Senator Hanson shouldn't be talking the nation down.
"I find it astonishing that Pauline Hanson has travelled overseas in order to denigrate and talk down Australia," he told reporters in Darwin on Monday.
"When I'm overseas, I talk Australia up. Pauline Hanson has travelled overseas to engage in various activities with fringe people and to talk Australia down. I don't think that's appropriate."
Mr Albanese has in recent months acknowledged the economic pressures drawing voters to parties like One Nation, while Opposition Leader Angus Taylor has refined his message to target the party's economic credentials.
"(The major parties) need to try to regain voters' support and voters' trust in their competence to run the country, without mentioning the fact that Pauline Hanson is making them so acutely aware of this," Dr Sheppard told AAP.
"It's a really tough line to navigate."
The latest Newspoll, published in The Australian, shows One Nation's primary vote rose one point to 30 per cent to tie with Labor, while the coalition also recorded an increase in support to 19 per cent, up from historic lows of 17 per cent.
In June, support for One Nation dropped two points from a historic high of 31 per cent following Senator Hanson's first address at the National Press Club.
Speaking at the CPAC conference in London, the One Nation leader told attendees "do not apologise for being white, I am sick of hearing about white privilege".
Mr Taylor said Senator Hanson doesn't have the answers to issues facing Australia, such as housing.
"One Nation doesn't have the solutions," he said.
"We know their top few policies would drive up inflation, drive up interest rates ... and make life harder for Australians."
Greens senator Sarah Hanson-Young said Senator Hanson was hiding from public scrutiny.
"What is clear here is that Pauline Hanson refuses to front up and tell the Australian people what she really wants to do if she gets the keys to The Lodge," she told reporters at Parliament House.
"Every time she gets under some pressure, every time she gets scrutinised, she runs for cover."
