The street upgrade was finished and re-opened earlier in the month, on Wednesday September 11.
Since its unofficial opening it has been received positively by the public, council and local businesses.
“We’re really pleased with how it turned out,” Edward River Council Mayor Norm Brennan said.
“They managed to complete the project under time and under budget so that’s brilliant.’’Tomorrow’s activities will start at 9am and there will be an official ribbon cutting at 10am.
A guest politician will attend the official opening alongside Mayor Brennan, who said he was excited to be officially opening the street and having the opportunity to acknowledge the hard work that went into it.
“The construction crew have done a great job,’’ he said.
The opening will give children the chance for some morning entertainment with balloon animal making and face painting available, including a chance to have their face painted for the big AFL grand final later in the day.
Cr Brennan didn’t believe the grand final would get in the way of there being a great turnout for the ribbon cutting.
“We’re hoping for a large attendance; the grand final isn’t on until later in the day so there’s still a great chance to get outside and enjoy the opening before settling in for the afternoon.’’
There will also be a prize draw on the day, and to be eligible customers must spend $30 at one of the stores located within the section of Napier St where the work has been done.
