Big Chairman's Reception

The 2019 Deni Ute Muster was officially opened on Friday at a special Chairman’s Reception.Chairman Russell Tait took the opportunity to thank all the volunteers and employees within the organisation, as well as address the Muster’s sponsors.

Among the guest speakers were CanAssist executive director Emma Phillips, from Sydney, and Deniliquin branch president Kellie Crossley. CanAssist was this year’s charity partner.

Mr Tait also acknowledged the NSW Government, which has committed $1.6 million for new Muster offices and a museum to be built on site.

Edward River Council Mayor Norm Brennan spoke to the room on behalf of council with a particular sense of nostalgia, as he remembered the first Ute Muster 21 years ago.

Ute Muster general manager Vicky Lowry closed the chairman’s address with her thank yous, but not before Aussie music legend John Williamson shared his career highlights with the special guests.
