Mr Crofts recently completed 14 days of quarantine after returning home from an overseas trip.
He said while he did not present any symptoms during his time in isolation, it was still important to follow all safety precautions.
‘‘I met the government criteria of going into self isolation and played the waiting game for 14 days,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s annoying but it is the recommendation and it’s better to be safe than sorry.
‘‘Things can change quickly with the advice from the government and the number of Coronavirus cases is continuing to grow rapidly.
‘‘I sat there and went stir crazy at home for the safety of everyone else, because symptoms on average haven’t shown up for three to five days.
‘‘Some cases have seen people not show symptoms for even longer periods of time.’’
While the Coronavirus pandemic has already had an impact on the way we live, Mr Crofts believes there will be even more long term impacts on Australians.
He said it was particularly important to follow the directions given by the government in order to help with these impacts.
‘‘Our lifestyles will be different for a long time,’’ he said.
‘‘We’re fortunate to have world class medical facilities in our country, however they can’t take a hit like Italy has.
‘‘This is why we need to try and flatten the curve before things get worse.’’
