While people are unable to attend the raffle draw on Good Friday, it will still be drawn by coordinator Fay Mills at her home.
Online donations will also be accepted in place of tin rattlers.
‘‘New Coronavirus restrictions have meant we have had to stop selling raffle tickets at the front of IGA and up the street, but they are still available until Good Friday,’’ Mrs Mills said.
‘‘The raffle will no longer be drawn at the Deniliquin RSL and will be at my house instead, with winners notified.
‘‘There are more than 30 prizes to be won.’’
Mrs Mills said the local appeal has already raised $4000, just from raffle ticket sales.
‘‘It is a great effort, so thank you to everyone who has purchased raffle tickets or donated,’’ she said.
The Good Friday Appeal launched its virtual tin shake on Thursday, and is an easy way to donate from the comfort of your own home.
‘‘If you would normally drop a coin or two into a collection tin on Good Friday, now you can go online and donate to the virtual tin at www.virtualtinshake.com,’’ Mrs Mills said.
‘‘However there are still collection tins at IGA, Mitre 10, Wired Entertainment, the Coach House, White Lion Hotel and other local stores, so there are plenty of opportunities to donate to a good cause.’’
As all online donations require you to provide an address, amounts will still be counted toward Deniliquin’s contribution to the appeal.
Raffle tickets are $1 each and can be purchased by phoning Mrs Mills on 0412 850 041.
If you would like to donate, phone Mrs Mills or drop the item to 21 Butler St, Deniliquin. Anyone going to the home is asked to keep social distancing regulations in mind.
