Five Deniliquin youngsters have enjoyed success on the bowling green in the 2023/2024 season, and others are invited to learn more about this great sport.

Darcy Nilsson and Ella Hipworth played in their first year of pennant and played in the Division 4 finals at the weekend.
Callan Glenn is in his second year of pennant and, after being in the Division 5 premiership team last year, played in the Division 4 finals as well.
His brother Jake Glenn is in his second year, and Tyler Hillier is in his first year of pennant. They have both played in Divisions 2, 3 and 4 as needed.
In his first year, Tyler has won the C-grade Club Singles and Mixed Pairs, and was runner-up in B-grade Singles.
Deniliquin RSL Bowls club president Tony Tonta said each has progressed to competition level after being introduced to the club through the Junior Bowls Academy.
Tonta said this program is about to start again, and he urges all young people to give it a go.
“Kids between the ages of 10 and 16 are invited to join every Tuesday and Thursday starting March 5, from 4pm to 5pm at Deni RSL Bowling Club in Duncan St,” he said.
The academy sessions are free and accessible to all school students. The Deni RSL Bowls Club provides equipment.
“Tuition is from experienced bowlers with a working with children certification.
“All kids are asked to wear is flat-soled shoes, and to bring a drink bottle and hat.”
