All Rams teams in top four

Another great day for the Deni Rams netballers saw wins in all grades, with each team now placed in the top four of the Murray League

It was a tough game for the Rams A grade with Cobram fighting for a potential top four position.

Deni started strongly but were thrown early in the game with Ella Harvey leaving the court in the early stages of the first quarter with a cork to the thigh.

Keely Mitsch made her debut with A grade taking to the court in WA following Harvey’s departure and appearing as a seasoned A grade player.

Harvey returned to the court in the second quarter, playing out the game to be named best on court, and Rams were able to hold a consistent lead up to half time.

Deni were forced to defend a fight back from Cobram late in the third quarter when veteran Eleisha Hall was carried from the court with a possible season ending knee injury.

An injury plagued Rams came out winners with a well fought game in which they were able to consistently resettle.

Mitsch showed maturity beyond her years and proved she is more than capable for senior selection while Ella Park continued her impressive season in defense and Kate McCalman stood tall in goals.

Final score, Deni Rams 47 to Cobram 39. Awards: Club Incentive - Ella Harvey; IGA - Ella Park; Coach House - Kate McCalman.

Deni’s B grade started strongly against Cobram and because of their composure, were able to increase their lead at every break in a 24 goal win.

The ball flowed well from one end to the other, many intercepts and turnovers were made.

Georgia Richards played with confidence and consistency the whole game in centre, applying much needed pressure and quality movement in attack.

Elle Parsons took countless intercepts and shut down Cobram’s attack and Kate McCalman was vital in her role as goal attack, presenting well and applying defensive pressure to get the ball back when it had been turned over.

Final score, Deni Rams 50 to Cobram 26. Awards: Club Incentive - Georgia Richards; Globe - Kate McCalman; Total Bliss - Elle Parsons; Fitnow! - Frieda O’Sullivan.

The C grade Rams put in a solid four quarters to come away with an important nailbiting win.

Deni started the game with lightning speed with the tempo staying quite high for the remainder of the game.

Final score, Deni Rams 49 to Cobram 46. Awards: Club Incentive - Katie Wren; IGA - Kayla Hussey; Coach House - Nat Maher.

A dominant second half saw the Rams C reserve record a 21 goal win.

After an even first term the Rams stayed strong and composed, playing smart netball finishing the second quarter seven goals up.

Deni continued to widen the gap in the second half as Hayley Bates made some impressive clear drives and fed the ball into the shooters well.

Olivia Park picked off many intercepts and was a force for the defensive end, Taylor Wilkinson made positive play at both defence and offensive ends, transitioning from end to end seamlessly.

Final score, Deni Rams 57 to Cobram 36. Awards: Club Incentive - Hayley Bates; Globe - Olivia Park; IGA - Taylor Wilkinson.

The Under 17s Rams were extremely impressive in a 29 goal win,

Deni played consistent netball working the ball well up and down the court.

Defence worked well with both Makhaya Mitsch and Emma McCallum starring.

Keely Mitsch was also strong in the midcourt and around the circle.

Final score, Deni Rams 58 to Cobram 29. Awards: Reflections - Emma McCallum; Eric Sim - Keely Mitsch; Bennett’s - Makhaya Mitsch.

The undefeated U15s Rams came out firing in their 48 goal win.

Hannah Ford was back after six weeks out with an injury and combined beautifully with Jemma Smith in defence. Sam Hughes had a great game in goals, shooting accurately and presenting with strong hands.

Final score, Deni Rams 58 to Cobram 10. Awards: Bennett’s - Hannah Ford; Eric Sim - Jemma Smith; Evolve - Sam Hughes.

The U13s Rams moved to fourth on the ladder after beating previously fourth placed Cobram by 20 goals.

A strong start set up the next three quarters with Deni showcasing excellent ball movement, increased confidence all over the court and teamwork.

Final score, Deni Rams 45 to Cobram 25. Awards: Subway - Bonnie Everett; Canteen - Stella White; McDonald’s - Phoebe Sander.

Saturday saw the Rams U11s’ best game to date, combining well all over the court to defeat Cobram by 30 goals.

Great moving and accuracy by Sophie Tilders, Remy Henderson and Carla Crossley in goals saw the Rams take the early lead.

There were many intercepts and turn arounds throughout the midcourt by Lucy Dankert, Ava Richards and Abbey Doncon which supported the attackers and allowed Deni’s lead to increase.

Shontai O’Callaghan was strong in defence and created many turnovers with her second efforts.

Hayley Whittakers, Molly Bradley and Aysha Mitch were very sensational in defence and made it difficult for Cobram to score.

Final score, Deni Rams 35 to Cobram 5. Awards: Canteen - Hayley Whittakers; Subway - Ava Richards; McDonald’s - Shontai O’Callaghan.

Rams Blue had a great consistent game in the Deniliquin Netball Association on Wednesday night.

Deni’s determination for the ball and numerous turnovers is what won them the game.

Winnie Thomson showed fantastic speed during the midcourt, while Maddie Weir shot and held beautifully in the ring.

Ava Robinson held the team up with her encouragement and team spirt.

Another undermanned effort saw the U13s Gold the girls start strong however they were just unable to maintain momentum, going down by one in the last seconds of the game.
