Almost a clean sweep for Rovers

Every contest was met with determination and whenever the opposition looked to build momentum, the girls responded by lifting their intensity and sticking to the game plan.

Across all four quarters, the defensive pressure remained relentless, the midcourt worked tirelessly to create attacking opportunities and the shooters finished with confidence.

The team’s patience with the ball, willingness to back each other and ability to stay focused from start to finish made for a complete four-quarter performance.

B-grade produced a determined comeback to record a hard-fought win.

The girls were slow to settle, with Katunga coming out firing to establish an eight-goal lead at the first break.

After regrouping and refocusing on their structures and game plan, the team gradually chipped away at the deficit.

A physical contest in the attacking end saw Sam Hughes and Belle McIlwain work tirelessly for every goal. Despite the pressure, they never dropped their heads and continued to compete strongly.

In defence, Georgia McCulloch was outstanding, getting hands to almost every ball and disrupting Katunga's attacking flow.

The teamwork through the midcourt in the second half was a highlight, with players backing each other up, winning loose balls, providing strong options and maintaining constant communication.

As a top-of-the-table clash, we knew this was going to be a tough contest, and it certainly lived up to expectations.

There was nothing separating the two teams after the first quarter, with matching intensity.

Despite the cold conditions, the girls were patient and continued to fight for every contest.

Their relentless defensive pressure created crucial turnovers that slowly shifted the momentum our way.

Matilda Glowrey was exceptional through the centre, providing a vital link between defence and attack with her tireless work rate and smart ball movement.

Our shooters were on fire, converting opportunities with confidence.

Brittany Edwards was outstanding, picking up multiple intercepts and then converting those opportunities in the goal ring.

The team finished the game in style with a brilliant final quarter.

The girls came out firing from the first whistle, setting the tone with strong defensive pressure, quick ball movement and consistent finishing in attack.

With a solid lead established, the second half provided an opportunity to make plenty of positional changes and trial different combinations.

It was pleasing to see the girls adapt well, maintain their intensity and continue sticking to our game plan right through to the final whistle.

Under-15s: Deni Rovers 39 def Katunga 10.

With multiple positional changes made at every break, the girls adapted quickly and maintained their court structure throughout the game.

Jorja Woolston put on an intercepting masterclass, cutting off multiple passes in every quarter.

Nina Glowrey worked tirelessly in defence and adjusted seamlessly when thrown into the shooting circle.

Zoe Harvey continues to impress with her relentless one-on-one defensive pressure and her willingness to take on feedback, immediately putting it into practice.

Under-13s: Deni Rovers 42 def Katunga 2.

The girls came in with a clear goal to achieve, using whole-team defensive structures worked on in training to keep pressure high and force errors against the opposition.

These transitions were effectively turned into goals, with the girls securing a strong 22-2 lead by the end of the first half.

Special mention to defenders Laila White, Isabella Goodear, Bella Leetham and Pallas East who were instrumental in consistently dictating and denying space for the opposition.

Strong communication, high work rate and consistency continue to be standouts built upon each game.

The under-11s played an outstanding game, showing strong drives across the court, accurate passing and amazing shooting under pressure.

There was awesome teamwork from start to finish, and positive attitudes and great energy kept the team focused.
