The ‘Evening with Jane Bunn’ has become a popular annual event.
She has a wealth of knowledge and understanding of weather drivers and systems.
As a weather consultant, Ms Bunn provides advice to farming communities, as well as the Country Fire Authority, the Department of Environment and Primary Industries and a large number of organisations in the agricultural sector.
Another guest, yet to be formally announced, will be presenting a talk on cropping forward outlooks and returns on behalf of Nutrien Ag.
The event will be held on Tuesday, May 3 at the Deniliquin Golf Club from 7pm.
It is proudly hosted by West Berriquin Irrigators and sponsored by Deniliquin Feighters and Wettenhall Air Services.
Spokesperson for Deniliquin Freighters and Wettenhall Air Services Vicki Meyer said it is “a night not to be missed”.
“Jane has the best weather data all in one place,” Ms Meyer said.
"When you’ve got reliable data, you can make shorter decisions in your cropping.“
Wettenhall Air Services will be collecting Ms Bunn from Essendon, after she has delivered her evening weather report, and will fly her to Deniliquin to deliver her presentation.
Following the presentation will be a question and answer session.
Ms Bunn is Channel 7 Melbourne’s resident weather forecaster and presenter, and also features at special events such as the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. She is also the weather forecaster and presenter on Radio 3AW.
She has just launched her own weather platform, called Jane’s Weather, at janesweather.com.
Ms Bunn has a Bachelor of Science degree from Monash University (majoring in Atmospheric Science and Mathematics), and was one of nine students from around Australia selected in 2006 to undertake a Graduate Diploma of Meteorology provided by the Bureau of Meteorology.
As part of her studies she spent a semester at Pennsylvania State University, one of the leading meteorology schools in the US.
The cost to attend the presentation is $20, which includes light catering.
Tickets can be purchased at the door.
