All winners of the Business Excellence Awards will come together this morning for a post-awards celebration.
The morning will be hosted by the Deniliquin Business Chamber, which also put on a brilliant gala awards presentation dinner at the Deniliquin RSL Club last Friday night.
Chamber executive officer Kate Pitt said adding to the atmosphere of the night was a host of special displays organised by The Depot and Purtill Group - in celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary.
“Our nominees and the winners were all outstanding, and we are so proud of every local business who entered the awards this year,” Ms Pitt said.
“It takes courage and time to nominate, and our finalists were of such quality that we could have had so many winners in each category.
“We ended up with joint recipients in one award, but in other categories our winners were only ahead by less than one point.
“I wish to thank all our sponsors, and we can’t underestimate the generosity of the Purtill family this year in particular.
“I also wish to thank Helen Flisher, Angela Parker, Rebecca Flisher and chamber president Paula Rutter for all their amazing work.”
Many of the award winners from Friday night are now automatically entered as finalists in the Riverina Murray Business Awards. All finalists will be announced on August 26, with the awards ceremony set for September 27.
Winners at the regional level become finalists in the state awards on October 30.
The night’s biggest award - Business of the Year - was won by Deni Play on the Plains Festival Limited.
Another 20 awards were also presented on the night.
