The owner of the car reportedly ran into the store just before 2pm on Friday, November 14.
An unknown man then stole the vehicle and reversed out of the car park.
Police said he removed the baby from the car after realising the child was there, placing the baby in a box in the car park before driving away.
The victim returned and immediately found the baby before raising the alarm, police said.
Police found the stolen car the next day in the Mooroopna area.
The alleged offender is described as being in his 20s to 30s, with a slim build and 165cm tall.
He was wearing a black cap backwards, navy headphones, a blue Golden State basketball singlet, black shorts, light blue runners and black sweatbands on both wrists.
Marine habitat upgrade
Gunbower Creek will share in $670,000 worth of grants from the Victorian Fisheries Authority for marine habitat and shelter projects.
Under this round of grants, the North Central Catchment Management Authority will receive $200,000 for projects in the creek and National Channel.
The project will see several rock piles, armoured banks and cod nesting structures installed between Torrumbarry and Gunbower.
According to the VFA, recreational fishing and fish populations are stronger in the lower reaches of the creek than the section upstream of Gunbower.
Installing habitat into the faster-flowing upper section will benefit native species like Murray cod, golden perch and Murray crays.
VFA chief executive Travis Dowling said the latest round of Fish Habitat Improvement Fund Grants were part of a $2.5 million Victorian Government investment.
Knockout power in showcase fight
One of the biggest fights of Daniel Matthews' career proved the perfect time for a career-defining performance.
The Kyabram-based Muay Thai fighter didn’t even need the whole first round to finish his fight, at 154lb, against New Zealand’s number one fighter, Jake Looknungubon on Saturday.
Matthews looked strong in the early minutes, but landed a decisive left kick with 2:25 gone in the first round to put Looknungubon down.
His opponent answered the standing eight count, but it was a matter of time for Matthews, who scored a second knockdown with a right hand almost immediately, before finishing the fight with another left kick seconds later.
This is a major win for Matthews, not only because of the opponent and the manner of victory, but what it could mean for his career.
