I find this coming election for Farrer is a huge opportunity to make the change in representation required by our electorate.
It appears to come down to only two potential candidates - David Farley for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation and Independent Michelle Milthorpe.
With the Nationals and the Liberals firstly preferencing each other, and then thirdly preferencing David Farley, One Nation will end up receiving all of the votes that have been cast to the Nationals and Liberals under the Electoral Commission rules after preferences have been distributed, if you follow the Nationals and Liberals how to vote card.
One Nation will do little for Farrer now or in the future as they are controlled out of Queensland and with Barnaby Joyce possibly a future leader.
He has already sold us down the river on previous occasions with irrigation volumes and looking after his floodplain harvesting mates in the north of the state.
After the recent South Australian election where One Nation have a number of members now in the South Australian Parliament, they are not going to be of any assistance with water issues in Farrer.
Their main, or only, policy is to stop immigration.
Farrer relies on immigrants, and Griffith was built on immigration.
Many of our doctors and specialists and nurses in Farrer are recent immigrants.
There’s also a lot of immigrants working in aged care, childcare and in agriculture, along with many more industries in Farrer.
We actually need immigration along with productive water.
After the One Nation success in the South Australian Election, Pauline Hanson said “I am coming for Farrer next”.
Do we want Farrer to become a trophy for Pauline? I sincerely hope not.
Yours etc.
