Benalla Lions Club public speaking competition

Seven budding orators took part in a junior public speaking competition organised by the Benalla Lions Club on Sunday, July 28.

The competition, held at the Benalla RSL building, saw participants deliver a speech on one of two topics.

The well-attended event, which was catered for by the RSL women’s auxiliary, saw proud families listen to the Year 3 and 4 students speak about their favourite character from a book or fairytale, while the Year 5 and 6 students spoke about the most influential person in their lives.

St Joseph’s student Emma Moore claimed the Most Outstanding Speaker award in the Year 3-4 category, while another St Josephs student, Lilly Hazel, earned the honour in the Year 5-6 category.
