Boardwalk’s construction resumes

BCM’s Kris Robins of Merigum at the boardwalk’s construction last week.
The gravel surface has been completed for most of the 45km track, this photograph showing the cycle track in front of the bridge opposite Skehans Lane near Corowa.

Construction of the main feature of the boardwalk on the $3.6 million 45km Corowa-Mulwala cycle trail project has resumed.

Delays with material halted resumption of work on the 200m long boardwalk over Lake Mulwala near Drain Lane.

Construction of the fibreglass stainless steel boardwalk is expected to be completed by the end of this month, weather permitting.

“We’ll have more workers on the job next week,” BCM’s Kris Robins told the Yarrawonga Chronicle.

At least 35kms of the cycle path has been gravelled.

The project will be an important tourism drawcard for the region adding to the overall Murray River Adventure Trail.
