Murray to Moyne is a not-for-profit charity ride that has supported regional health services for decades.
Led by Graeme Butcher, a dedicated team of riders fundraise each year before tackling the more than 500 km journey from the Murray River in NSW to the Moyne River at Port Fairy in Victoria.
Their efforts have delivered significant benefits to Deniliquin Hospital, with donations directly supporting clinical education and essential equipment.
This year, the hospital has received two state-of-the-art Stryker wheelchairs, one for the main ward and another shared between Emergency and Radiology.
Clinical nurse educator Jess Donaldson has also taken delivery of a new paediatric mannequin, which will allow her to deliver specialised emergency training locally and across the cluster.
The new equipment means nursing and medical staff can now train on both infant and child simulation mannequins, as recommended for paediatric emergency education.
A hospital spokesperson said the support from Murray to Moyne continues to make a meaningful difference.
“Thanks to the Murray to Moyne team’s fundraising, we’ve been able to invest in both essential clinical equipment and paediatric training resources.
“Access to infant and child simulation mannequins means our nursing and medical staff can complete vital emergency training locally, strengthening skills and improving care for children and families across the region.”
With the Boat Club providing the perfect backdrop for an evening of food, music and community spirit, organisers are encouraging locals to come along, enjoy the night and support a cause that directly benefits the region’s health services.
