Saying these women often put themselves last when trying to help their family through the through drought conditions, organisers of the 'Ladies on the Land NSW" charity effort are calling on communities to help put together some gifts.
The volunteers at the Deniliquin Community Opp Shop - run at St Paul's Anglican Church in Deni each Tuesday and Thursday - have volunteered to be a drop off point for the project.
This week, they have received a pile of decorated boxes filled with pamper items ready for delivery.
Before next week's drop-off deadline, the Pastoral Times team will add to the total.
"This year, staff at the Pastoral Times opted to donate to a worthwhile charity instead of buying each other Kris Kringle gifts," business manager Leesa Muir.
"We all thought we could make better use of our allocated budget to help someone in need.
"Some staff have opted to put their money toward local wishing tree projects, and others have chosen to support the Ladies on the Land project."
You too can help by filling a shoe box or two with special pamper items.
The shoe box should be wrapped in newspaper with a ribbon around it, and delivered to the Community Opp Shop by 4pm on Tuesday, December 3.
