Simon Rogan has been elevated to the rank after recently completing the Junior Leaders Course conducted at Puckapunyal.
Unit Captain Bob Crampton said the achievement is a source of pride for all cadets and instructors.
“This promotion reflects the dedication and leadership Cadet Lance Corporal Rogan has shown throughout his time with the unit,” Capt Crampton said.
“We’re excited to see him take on this new role and continue to grow as a leader among his peers.”
Capt Crampton invited other young people to learn more about cadets, and build their leadership skills through the local unit.
They are currently recruiting members aged 13 to 17.
Capt Crampton said cadets “develop a wide range of valuable skills”, including self-discipline and resilience, drill, navigation, first aid, field engineering and team building.
Members also have the opportunity to work alongside other cadet units and take part in exercises, broadening their experience and building lasting friendships.
