Cameron Morrison started in the position in mid January based in the area sharing his time between the Elders stores in Deniliquin and Barham, in between and beyond.
Cam recently moved up from St Arnaud in Victoria, where he has been working as an agronomist in the private sector since 2011.
Before 2011 Cam worked with the Department of Agriculture in crop and pasture research, national variety trial evaluation and salinity management/farm planning.
His areas of expertise are in broad acre cropping, pastures and farm planning.
Cam said following his first month, a major part of him moving to the district was its community appeal.
“What brought me to Deni was a combination of a lot of things, definitely the role but also the lifestyle and the community,” he said.
“I have visited quite a few times before, and it is always a great spot to be, and that has probably made moving a lot easier.
“The clients and farmers that I have contacted have been very open and welcoming.
“It is very encouraging, and I’m glad to see that coming in with a long-term vision and that response is very encouraging.
“In my experience, I’ve found smaller communities always welcoming, but particularly Deni has been very welcoming.
“Also, the staff here have been very helpful, especially in making sure I don’t get lost.”
In the role, Cam said he is looking forward to working together with landholders.
“One thing I’ve always enjoyed in my career is working with farmers and collaboration to get the best outcome.
“I enjoy being out on farms, working through the tough times and the good times but particularly getting those results in the tough times, I get a lot of satisfaction out of that.”
Cam is joining Rhianna Beacham who started at Elders Deniliquin as an agronomist in 2025.
He said the pair are looking forward to continuing to introduce themselves to the community and if anyone would like to contact Cam they are to feel free to call him on 0408 280 397.
“I’m more than happy for people to contact me directly on my mobile or via the Elders office.
“Myself and Rhianna are really keen to meet farmers in the community as we’re here to collaborate with them.”
