But before it gets here, there will be plenty of fun and games in the park with the annual Carols Night on December 7.
Make sure you mark that date on your calendar for a great night of fun.
And talking of Christmas, some lucky person will still have the chance to tuck a flash boat in their stocking thanks to the Mathoura Bowling Club and its current major members' competition.
The next (and final) draw will be conducted soon.

The Mathoura community is mourning the passing of local woman, Rosa Shey.
Rosa was a lovely lady and skilful bowler who had won numerous championships over the years.
She will be missed by many.

I hope you are handling the current weather conditions okay - moving from hot to cold, and back again in no time at all.
I hope it settles down soon, or Santa will have trouble keeping himself and his load of goodies on board the sleigh.

After many years as your columnist, I have decided it’s time to pass the torch.
I intend to retire from writing the ‘Mathoura Diary’ column in December.
I would love for someone to take over from me, to ensure local news is provided to the Deniliquin Pastoral Times each week.
If you’d like to know more about what this entails, or would like to volunteer for the job, please contact me, or Pastoral Times content manager Zoe McMaugh at zoe.mcmaugh@denipt.com.au.
