Community connection was the aim when local and district police officers hosted the Coffee with a Cop initiative in Deniliquin last week.
Murray River District Police officers based locally and in Albury made themselves available to discuss all things policing with members of the community at Coffee Oasis on Thursday.
The initiative aims to point out that police officers are part of the community and have a shared goal that can be achieved.
The opportunity to grab a free coffee, courtesy of the police, and have a conversation with officers across different policing sectors was taken up by many.
It was also a chance for community members to raise current issues and concerns, and potential hopes for the future.
The Coffee with a Cop initiative started in Fairfield, Sydney more than 10 years ago.
It then spread into other policing commands across the state.
