Toy Run coordinator and Ulysses Motorcycle Club member Peter Nankivell said the day was a great success.
“The day went really well. About 50 bikes and half a dozen cars rolled up, and we were able to get a trailer and car load of donations,” he said.
The day ran smoothly and volunteers noted the cooler weather helping to bring people to the event.
All toys collected will be wrapped and distributed locally by the Salvation Army next Friday, ensuring families in need across the community receive support this Christmas.
Any excess donations will be passed on to Homes Out West, extending the reach to those who may not be directly known to the Salvos.
Mr Nankivell also expressed gratitude to everyone involved.
“Thanks to everyone that turned up with bikes and cars, as well as those that donated,” he said.
“Thanks also to the Deniliquin Antique Vehicle Club, the Salvation Army and Sandra Whyborn.”
Now in its 41st year, the Toy Run continues to honour the legacy of Marc Kingston, who coordinated the event from 1984 until his passing in 1994.
More importantly, it remains a powerful symbol of community generosity, ensuring local children wake up to joy on Christmas morning.
