Public meetings will be held on the fourth Tuesday of each month, starting at 9am.
This is a change from this year’s schedule, where meetings are held the third Tuesday from 10am.
The new meeting days and times will be applied to the meetings held from February to November 2026.
In December 2026, the ordinary meeting will be held from 9am on the second Tuesday, December 8.
Council will also continue to host monthly workshops involving staff and councillors only, on the second Tuesday of each month.
“Moving the ordinary council meetings to later each month will allow for accurate reporting with a further week (after the workshop) for information to be sought and clarified prior to going to council for resolution,” the report to council said.
Meetings will continue to be held at the Denilquin council chambers, although venue changes might be considered during the year.
“To increase engagement with our rural communities, correspondence will be undertaken asking when they would like council to visit,” on part of the passed recommendation said.
While workshops are closed to the public, community members are welcome to attend the public gallery of any ordinary meeting.
Requests to address council at meetings must be put in writing to the CEO in advance.
