Remembering to get her ‘Think B4U Click this Christmas’ entry tickets submitted by Friday, she had been rewarded just in time for the holiday season.
Amy is the second of our 'Think B4U Click this Christmas' campaign winners.
Her prize of $500 consists of a $250 Deniliquin Business Chamber Why Leave Town Gift Card and $250 cash.
Amy’s winning ticket came from Harvey Norman Deniliquin, which had a number of enticing products that encouraged her to shop local.
“I think it (the winning draw) is from either a couch or a Ninja Slushi machine we bought here (Harvey Norman) a few weeks ago,” Amy said.
“We were looking at the watches here; there were so many options, I definitely think we’ll be spending it (the prize) locally.”
Amy works grew up in Deniliquin, and returned two years ago with her young family to work at River Region Early Education’s Childcare Centre.
Her daughter Imogen will start primary school in town next year.
The winning draw was good timing, with Imogen’s birthday so close to Christmas - on December 20.
“It’s pretty crazy, I only just put the tickets in on Friday, and I’m glad I did.
“It is very exciting; we’ve never won anything like this.”
The 'Think B4U Click this Christmas' campaign is a Deniliquin Pastoral Times initiative, delivered with support of local businesses and organisations.
The total prize pool this year is $6000, with the major prize of $5000 to be drawn at the Edward River Community Christmas Part on Friday, December 19.
This is the first time the prizes have been offered as half cash, reflecting the financial pressures currently being experienced across the country.
Participating businesses will issue entry tickets when you shop in store, and you can earn more right up until the major prize draw.
Customers will earn one ticket for purchases up to $20, with extra tickets awarded for each additional $20 spent in a single transaction (capped at 20 tickets per transaction).
There’s one double ticket bonus day remaining, on December 10.
