Water main relocation to begin on Hardinge Street
Edward River Council will begin relocating the water main along Hardinge Street next week, ahead of the major Hardinge Street upgrade.
Works will take place between Ochtertyre Street and Wood Street, starting Monday, 16 February 2026, and are expected to continue through to Friday, 5 June 2026. Crews will be on site from 7am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
A reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place for the duration of the project, and motorists are urged to follow traffic control, drive to the conditions and allow extra travel time.
Council has thanked residents for their patience while this essential work is carried out. More information about the Hardinge Street Reconstruction Project is available at haveyoursay.edwardriver.nsw.gov.au/hardinge-street-road-reconstruction-project.

Final days to see Boat Club’s 80‑year exhibition
Locals have just a few days left to catch the Deniliquin Boat Club’s 80‑year anniversary exhibition at the Peppin Heritage Centre, with the display set to close on Monday, 16 February.
The exhibition has been a popular stop over summer, celebrating eight decades of river life through photographs, memorabilia and stories from the club’s volunteer‑driven history. Visitors have enjoyed a look back at the people, boats and community spirit that helped shape one of Deni’s most enduring river institutions.
Those who haven’t yet dropped in are encouraged to make time this weekend, with organisers describing it as a rare chance to see the club’s story brought together in one place.
The exhibition is open at the Peppin Heritage Centre Gallery until Monday. More information is available at visitdeni.com or by phoning 1800 650 712.
