A number of entries from the local area were put forward for the competition after being successful at the Deniliquin Show in March.
As a result, five locals took away first placings in eight different categories - Linda Maher, Lyn Rose, Richard Walker and junior entrants Izzy Pearn and Alice Petersen.
A number of minor placings were also awarded to the entrants representing the Deniliquin Show Society.
Some of the locals will now progress through to the Royal Melbourne Show for judging at the next level of competition.

Junior Boiled Fruit Cake - Izzy Pearn, 1.
Hand Embroidery (article of any type excluding cross stitch) - Linda Maher, 1 and 3.
Cross Stitch (any type up to 60cm on all sides including frame. Minimal embellishments allowed) - Linda Maher, 1.
Patchwork (not more than one metre on any one side) - Lyn Rose, 1 and 2.
Chocolate Mud Cake (own recipe, no icing or topping, 20cm tin) - Ayla Nganeko, 3.
Table Runner (including some recycled materials eg: doyleys, lace, maximum size 150cm x 45cm) - Lyn Rose, 1.
Hand Knitted Garment or Article made from pure wool/wool blend - Betty Murray, highly commended.
Crocheted Article any yarn (no larger than 1m on any one side) - Linda Maher, 2.
Handcraft - One Person's Work (three items of different craft eg. knitting, painting, sewing, crochet etc) - Linda Maher, 1.
Open Photography (Stairs Black & White or Coloured print) - Ayla Nganeko, 3.
