Part of the offering and crowd at last year’s summer Deniliquin Store Sheep Sale.

The Deniliquin Saleyards will roar into action again today, for the annual Deniliquin Store Sheep Sale.

Organised by the Deniliquin Associated Agents, there are expected to be 11,970 head penned for the auction starting at 11am.

It includes crossbreds and Merinos from some of the region’s most productive properties.

Among the largest lots to be presented are 1600 Merino wethers from ‘North Tuppal’ at Tocumwal, 1000 Merino wethers from Cocketgedong Pty Ltd in Urana and 800 White Suffolk x Meino lambs from ‘Spring Plains’ at Wanganella.

The sale is expected to attract a strong crowd of local, regional and interstate buyers, and spectators are also welcomes.

On-site support from the Sheep and Goat eID team will assist buyers with National Livestock Identification Scheme eID device use, ensuring compliance with traceability standards.

A canteen will be available throughout the sale, enhancing the event’s social atmosphere.
