Mathoura only managed the one rink win in a 13 shot loss to Echuca at Rochester, 76 to 63.
The result brought an end to Mathoura’s season in the Midweek competition, however with two sides set to play in the Weekend Pennant grand finals, the club will have plenty to celebrate this week.

Deniliquin Bowling Club’s Division Three Midweek Pennant were knocked out of the CVBD finals race, suffering a five shot loss to Moama Green at Rochester.
Despite being level overall on several occasions; and the lead fluctuating between the two sides; Moama Green came home the stronger team.
Final scores were 41 to 36.
Robyn Little skipped her team of Noel Murray, Aileen Kennedy and Maureen King to a seven shot win, 23 to 16.
Lorraine Tasker, Chris Frampton, Joy McArthur and Cheryl Bradley (s) had a close game up until the lunch break; when scores were 9-all after 14 ends.
Moama Green then hit their straps scoring 14 shots to four during the final 11 ends to run away with a 25 to 13 win.
On Wednesday, Linda Harris and Brenda Leetham fought it out for the Ladies section of the DBC’s 100-up Handicap final.
Leetham got off to an outstanding start; however Linda fought back, closing the difference in the scores.
Leetham held on to take the title for the first time in her bowling career.
