The Uniting Church Kyabram will host a free outreach and revival event at the Kyabram Plaza Theatre on Friday, October 31, from 7.30pm, aimed at welcoming newcomers and exploring faith together.
Uniting Church chaplain David Czech said the event was a way to share the gospel of Jesus with Kyabram as the town was on the brink of a population increase.
“It is an opportunity for those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ, those who haven’t yet and those who are looking for answers to recommit … or commit for the first time,” he said.
Brendan Handel from Olive Tree Media will be a guest speaker for the event.
Olive Tree Media is a media company that produces thought-provoking media exploring the transformative power of Jesus.
In the week leading up to the event, Mr Handel will be conducting in-depth interviews with diverse Kyabram residents about their personal connections to Jesus.
On Friday, he will share these stories and feature a live interview, offering relatable insights into faith journeys.
Singer and songwriter John Newsome will be assisting Mr Handel throughout the event, playing acoustic guitar.
Mr Czech said while the Uniting Church was hosting the event, it was a collaborative effort designed to benefit all local churches, encouraging people to explore their faith and find a spiritual home.
“We’ve all been praying for God’s presence to bring renewal, repentance and a deep desire to follow Jesus Christ,” he said.
“That’s the significant thing about the Encounter event, is that our salvation is about our relationship with God.”
