The day saw a total of 74 dogs competing on the Maiden/Novice course, with the group’s new permanent Open/Improver course in operation.
It was a warm day with great sheep and excellent competition seeing some of Victoria and New South Wales best dogs on show.
Yard Dog Association secretary/treasurer Liz White said that due to the amount of entrants, the dog trials were held over two days.
‘‘This year we moved the Encourage round to Sunday and added the Junior class,’’ she said.
‘‘This was to allow more time to spend learning with Joe Spicer on training and guidance for yard trialling beginners.
‘‘If Sunday is anything to go by, the future of the sport looks bright.
‘‘I’d like to say thank you to all of our sponsors and volunteers who gave their valuable time and resources to ensure the weekend was a great success, as well as our judges who gave up their time for the weekend also.
‘‘I’d also like to thank the Bridge Club members who helped us with scoring on the day.’’
