However, they have the support of a hard-working group which raises funds to finance travel expenses.
Known as The Bra Fence Group, it began by accepting donations for allowing bras to be hung on its fence, located on the Echuca end of the Cobb highway through town.
As the cases grew, so did the number and variety of fundraising activities conducted, including an event at the Middle Pub and the Mathoura Speed Shear and annual fundraiser at the football ground.
In one fundraiser, $500 is up for grabs. You can be in with a chance of winning by purchasing tickets, which are $10 each.
This will be drawn once all tickets have been sold.
The shearing competition will be held on November 1.

Irrigation farmers in the district could be adversely affected by the government's decision to slash staff numbers in WaterNSW.
Staff in selected offices have initially been offered voluntary redundancies I believe, but if that doesn’t work the hammer will no doubt come down.
WaterNSW has an office in Deniliquin, but so far, it’s unclear how many staff members from there may be lost in this strategy to save money.

The Mathoura community has been saddened by the announcement that the local Bendigo Bank is to close.
The move will be a major inconvenience for many elderly residents who may need to go out of town for their banking activities.
It will also be an inconvenience for staff who will lose their jobs.
I would like to personally thank these people for the great work they have done, and also thank the bank for its generous support of the Mathoura Public School and various other community groups.
