The STEM program began back in 2018 and has been greatly benefiting the students since.
Teacher Ruth Landale said topics studied by the students vary between year groups, to cater more specifically to the needs and skill levels of each grade.
All students receive lessons helping them understand how to use and code a range of robotic equipment.
Infants students focus on musical instruments, fairy tales and flight in their STEM studies, each week getting to design and construct different creations to take home.
Upper primary students deal with a longer process involving engineering projects and challenges.
They build model tree-house and fairground rides that are powered by small electrical circuits.
This term, Year 5 and 6 students will be entering a nationwide program that is run by Sammat Education.
They will be tasked with creating a ‘Smart City’ using various electronics and methods of coding.
In the school’s inaugural STEM Expo planned for later this term, many of the projects the students have been working on will be showcased.
