The Deniliquin RSL Rock and Roll Club will host dancers in the club’s Dunlop Room on both Friday and Saturday night.
Club president Tony Tonta said you don’t have to be a skilled rock and roll dancer to come along, you just need passion for dancing and having fun.
‘‘We are putting the music on, but it is up to you if you want to get up and have a dance,’’ he said.
‘‘We will mix it up with rock and roll, line and partner dance music and some other pieces to keep it interesting.
‘‘You can come along to watch those on the dance floor, to enjoy the music or give it a go yourself.’’
Mr Tonta said dancing, particularity rock and roll, is good for your brain and fitness, which he said another excuse to kick up your heels and give it a ‘twirl’.
‘‘It is also great for socialising and suits everyone, young and old,’’ he said.
‘‘A lot of our songs are related back to the ‘50s, ‘60s and even ‘70s, so it is hard not to reminisce.
‘‘And it is fantastic to see the young ones loving these classic tunes as much as we do.
‘‘Feel free to come along and dress up if you want to; it is going to be a great two nights, dancing away to the beat.’’
Featuring on Friday night will be live band What’s Next and DJ Angelo, with dancing from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.
Saturday’s action starts at 1.30pm with DJ Angelo, until 5pm. From 7.30pm to midnight, The Delmatics will provide the music.
A two-day pass is just $10 per person.
Those who want to learn to dance can attend the Deniliquin RSL Rock and Roll Club’s lessons each Monday at the Deniliquin RSL from 6.30pm.
‘‘It’s never too late to learn,’’ Mr Tonta said.
