The Fremantle Dockers and Brisbane Lions will be playing off in the AFL grand final tomorrow.

Despite being two interstate teams, there will no doubt be plenty of interested local supporters.
The Dockers are aiming for their first ever AFL premiership while the Lions are going for their third premiership in a row and their first ‘three-peat’ since 2003.
There will be plenty of vantage points whether at home or out on the town for the big game.
If you’re looking to get a good glimpse of the AFL’s big day, one great option is the Deniliquin RSL.
From noon, the big screen will be on, there will be free nibbles - like hot dogs, party pies and sandwiches - and of course access to the free courtesy bus is a bonus.
Moira turns 99
Moira White celebrated her 99th birthday surrounded by friends and family in Mathoura at the weekend.
Moira was joined for lunch at the picturesque The Timbercutter restaurant at Picnic Point.
She and her guests enjoyed fine food and wine, and a deliciously rich chocolate cake made especially for Moira for dessert.
Multiple generations of family members attended to make the day special.
Film icons event today
The Deniliquin Film Society will be hosting a free screening of Jill Bilcock: Dancing the Invisible this evening.
It will be hosted at the Deniliquin Town Hall. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
The documentary is on Bilcock a film editor, considered one of the world’s leading film artists and who has been Academy Award nominated.
Both the film’s subject and executive producer Sue Maslin AO will be present for the screening, and will also be involved in a Q&A session.
The screening is free thanks to funding from South West Arts and Create NSW, and support from Country Arts Support Program (CASP) and Edward River Council.

Oscar Wren was grand final’s best
Grand final celebrations are continuing this week for the Deniliquin Rams, after its thirds won the under-17s flag last Saturday.
They were triumphant by eight points against the Moama Magpies, with a huge sea of blue and yellow on the sidelines showing their support.
The supporters were particularly pleased with the post-match presentations, where Deni’s Oscar Wren was awarded best on ground.
Positioned at halfback flank Oscar has been known as general of the defence due to his daring ball use as well as aggressive run and carry.
His ability to attack from defence was crucial in Saturday’s premiership with the Rams having two less scoring shots than Moama.
The defence stood up forcing the Magpies inaccuracy while the Rams took their opportunities and kicked truly.

Tones and I has hit the headlines again just days before her Deni Ute Muster appearance next week, but it’s not all been friendly.
There have been reports that the Australian singer-songwriter had been approached to perform at the NRL grand final next Sunday.
The official line from her management is that she was unable to perform due to prior commitments.
As such Australian Rugby League Commission chair Peter V’landys earlier this week suggested that the NRL grand final will not have any pre-match entertainment this year.
Other media commentators are reporting that Tones has been dropped by the commission for allegedly refusing to play her break-out hit Dance Monkey as part of the grand final entertainment.
