As Edward River Council’s community and economy manager, she will drive strategic initiatives that foster economic growth, community engagement, and tourism development.
A proud Deniliquin local, Ms Druitt was born and raised in the region before pursuing her education in Melbourne.
She returned to Deniliquin in 2017 and has since been a passionate advocate for regional development and community engagement.
Ms Druitt has spent the past four years with Murray River Council’s economic development and tourism team.
Most recently, she served as economic development officer, and has also performed as acting manager economic development and tourism for six months, where she led key initiatives to support local business growth and tourism.
Prior to this, Ms Druitt held roles at Intereach and the Deni Ute Muster.
She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Marketing.
“I’m thrilled to be stepping into this role with Edward River Council,” Ms Druitt said.
“Deni is home - our families are here, and my partner Todd and I are excited to raise our daughter Georgie in the same vibrant community we grew up in.”
Ms Druitt is deeply involved in the local community, having served on the committees of several organisations including the Country University Centre Riverina, Deniliquin Rams Football Netball Club, Deniliquin Boat Club, and Deniliquin Growth Strategy.
Council CEO Jack Bond said that he is looking forward to Ms Druitt’s commencement in late June.
“Julia’s local knowledge, expertise and passion for community development make her an outstanding addition to our leadership team,” Mr Bond said.
