Hospital ED reopened

The ED relocated temporarily to the day surgery unit to enable the contractors to complete the works with no disruption to service.

The ED has been reconfigured and includes a separate entrance for ambulance arrivals, new consultation rooms and bathrooms, and a security system upgrade.

An official opening will be scheduled in the coming weeks.

The ED upgrade is the second stage of a $4.6 million project.

Works completed include relocation of the oncology unit, upgrade of the day surgery unit and a new CT scanner.
