He was approached by Big River Real Estate owner Angela Carmichael to consider a career change, and the self-described “people person” has since built a solid reputation for success.
Mr Taylor now continues that trajectory as the licensee in charge of Big River Real Estate.
He and wife Alisha purchased the business from Mrs Carmichael earlier this month.
But Mr Taylor says that’s the only change clients will see.
“It will be business as usual, and Angela will always be there in the background to provide support as needed,” he said.
“The opportunity, trust and guidance Angela has given me over the last eight years has been amazing.
“She gave me free rein to be myself, but was always there to offer support throughout. And it worked.
“Joining Big River was like a full circle moment for us because I was her boss when she worked at the Deniliquin RSL Club.
“Angela has worked in this business since she was 16, eventually buying the business herself, and now enjoy spending more time with her family.”
Mr Taylor joined Big River as a property manager, and moved to sales five years ago.
To aid the “natural career progression” to Big River owner, his latest qualification was a Diploma of Property (Agency Management) which was completed this year.
It will continue to be a busy time in real estate for Mr Taylor and his team, with interest in Deniliquin growing sharply in recent months.
“The market is still quite hot, for local buyers and investors seeking out Deniliquin properties.
“We’re getting a lot of interest from buyer agents in Sydney lately, looking at Deniliquin all of a sudden.
“It’s so strong that if I had 30 properties to sell, I could have them gone in a day.
“But we’re still seeking a lot of off-market sales happening because of the demand, and it’s similar with rentals just because we have such huge wait lists.
“And that’s happening everywhere at the moment.”
